ACE Newsletter - Week 4

Oct 5, 2026

Hello ACE families,

I hope you are off to a great start this week after a refreshing and relaxing break week! You may have gotten your work done the first week or you may be wrapping up some assignments today. Whichever way you decided to go, good job for completing tasks and starting out Week 4 on top of things! The beauty of ACE is the built-in flexibility you have when deciding each week when to get the work done based on your unique schedule! If you’d like a little encouragement on your hybrid school journey, check out this article: inhonorofdesign.com/2018/01/family-update-hybrid-model-schooling/ What the authors say about an adjustment period is very true! It takes a while to get a system together when doing school at home with your kiddos. Give yourself time to figure it out and let us know if we can help!

School Photos

School photos will be taken on Tuesday, October 20! ACE does not charge for photos and will provide each family with a digital copy of their students’ picture.

Afterschool Fun Club Days (registration ends today @ 5 p.m.)

Fun Clubs begin on Tuesday, October 6. Fun Clubs with space available include ACE Newspaper & French Culture. Registration closes at 5 p.m. on 10/5, so leaders can be well prepared for the beginning of clubs.

Pumpkin Patch Time (registration ends 10/16)

It’s field trip time! Join us at Detering Orchards on October 29, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. To register and get more information, sign up here: forms.gle/7V8ByjuebvoChwX27

Literary Parade (Choose a book character)

On Thursday, October 22, during lunch time, we are holding our annual Literary Parade (parents always welcome!). Students and staff get to dress up as a character from a book instead of wearing uniforms. General guidelines:

No masks or face coverings, no weapons (even fake ones; nothing related to weapons at school, at all), and nothing scary/horror-related (remember, we are a K-12 school). Please make sure your costume is modest (no bare midriff/bare chest; low neckline or high slits) and that you’ll be able to comfortably study in your costume for the day (we don’t have a lot of time to be taking costumes on and off). Each person in appropriate costume will earn 10 points for their House team. If you have questions about your costume, please let me know.

Sneak Peek of 2027 Academy Ball

Wondering what next year’s Academy Ball theme is? We’re going all out with a Roaring 20’s theme. Start thinking of your costumes now!

ACE Student Market

Student Council is hosting a Student Market on November 7. Booth space is FREE and students can sign up to sell items they’ve created or made themselves (food/treats, woodworking, origami, toys, crochet, paintings, arts & crafts, etc). Sign up to reserve your booth here: forms.gle/4rpmnZEndTkgw3xLA

Let me know if you have any questions!
