Hello ACE families,
Hurrah! We are going into the 3rd week of the continuous 3-week cycle that ACE follows. After classes are over on Thursday, you will have officially begun the Off Campus/4th Week (no regular school during this week!). This is the blessing of year-round school- built in breaks throughout the year! The off-campus week is a little breather for everyone. ACE is intense (I’m sure that doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone after your first month), and this pause from in-person classes offers families a chance to make personal choices about their Home-Linked Assignments for the next two weeks. Some families choose to complete their week of HLAs before the next Tuesday just so they stay “on schedule” and can enjoy a full week without any assignments. Other families like to take the two weeks to complete their HLAs, enjoying the less hectic pace (my personal choice!). It’s up to you as to which option you choose. Just remember to check over your HLAs and contact your Academic Dean with any questions as soon as possible.
And now that we’re nearing the end of our first three-week cycle, it’s a good time to reflect on this last month…How did school go for you? Are you acclimating after summer break or struggling a bit to get on a schedule? Remember, reach out- we are here for you!
A Note About Email…
It’s important that you are using your ACE email as ADs are transitioning away from personal emails to school emails only this week. ADs want to hear how you’re doing and they try very hard to be responsive during the week (M-F), but weekends may be trickier to reach your AD and get a quick reply. ADs work tirelessly, and they will do their best to answer when they can. Just know that you might not get a superfast reply on the weekends!

Each summer we hold contests to encourage extracurricular reading among our students. The July and August winners listed below will each receive a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card. Gift cards will be handed out by student ADs. Congratulations readers!

Fun Clubs

Many Fun Clubs are filling up fast, but we’ve added the French Culture Club this year, and it’s worth checking this one out! All ages are invited!
Bon voyage without leaving the classroom! In this journey across France, students will taste their way through croissants, crêpes, and galettes while uncovering the real story behind the Mona Lisa heist, the mystery of the Eiffel Tower's near-demolition, and the excess at the Palace of Versailles that sparked a revolution. Each week travels to a new region, from the fairytale castles of the Loire Valley to the lavender fields of Provence, with fun crafts and taste-tests and essential French phrases that are actually useful. Part history mystery, part culinary adventure, part language class - this is French culture the way it should be experienced!
ACE Student Market
Student Council is hosting a Student Market on November 7. Booth space is FREE and students can sign up to sell items they’ve created or made themselves (food/treats, woodworking, origami, toys, crochet, paintings, arts & crafts, etc). Sign up to reserve your booth here.
Rhetoric Office Hours/Google Classroom
Rhetoric students needing extra support can meet with their teachers during the following Office Hours on Wednesdays:
9:00 - 10:00 - Math
10:00 - 12:00 - History & Writing (College Now: 11a.m.-12noon)
12:30 - 1:30 - Science
Students can drop-in or sign up in advance to meet with their instructors.
Parents- To view student ‘work in progress’ in Google Classroom, review completed work, and see teachers’ feedback, have your student go to Drive and share their Classroom folder with your ACE email. All their classes will populate there, so you can view the assignments.
