ACE Newsletter - Week 6

Oct 20, 2025

Hello ACE families,

We are going into the third week of the ACE cycle and heading into break week/off campus week. Break week will include 4th Week Homework Club. If you need some help getting caught up on assignments this month, 4th Week Homework Club is an excellent time to get teacher support and wrap up some late work. Grammar C-Dialectic 4 students have Homework Club from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. Rhetoric students have Homework Club from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Rh-bring a lunch). Check with your ADs if you have questions.

Absence Procedures

If you have a pre-planned absence coming up, please fill out the Pre-Arranged Absence form located across from the office or attached here. This helps office staff know who to expect each day and who might be out sick or tardy. If we don’t know your child will be absent, we’ll call you to check in.

Board Meeting (10/21)

The next board meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 5 p.m. in the Computer Lab. All are welcome to attend in person or virtually. Video call link: meet.google.com/osr-maqp-wgg

College Board Exams (10/22)

This Wednesday, October 22, ACE will proctor the PSAT 8/9, PSAT NMSQT, and SAT. The morning schedule for Rhetoric students will be very different that day. Special education supports and tutoring will be shifted due to the testing schedule. Please verify with your teachers and tutors if you have any questions!

Literary Parade (10/23)

On Thursday, October 23, we are holding our annual Literary Parade! Students and staff get to dress up as a character from a book instead of wearing uniforms. General guidelines:

No masks or face coverings, no weapons (even fake ones; nothing related to weapons at school, at all), and nothing scary/horror-related (remember, we are a K-12 school). Please make sure your costume is modest (no bare midriff/bare chest; low neckline or high slits) and that you’ll be able to comfortably study in your costume for the day (we don’t have a lot of time to be taking costumes on and off). Each person in appropriate costume will earn 10 points for their House team. If you have questions about your costume, please let me know.

Art Auction Fundraiser (ends 10/23)

Art submissions are located at the front entrance. The bidding ends this Thursday (10/23). The proceeds will go towards the Academy Ball in the spring.

Sourdough

If you are forgetting to order sourdough, the link is here or at the bottom of the email. I’m not kidding when I say the bread and treats are outstanding! forms.gle/bWo2Puwqn3p1vp6y9

Have a great week!
