Hello ACE families,
Can you believe we are already in March, and it’s Week 19!! This month Grammar D and up students should be focusing on passing their multiplication tests, so we can celebrate with our schoolwide pizza party! Also, each Grammar C – Rhetoric student that meets their class typing goal earns a t-shirt reward, which they get to wear on Tuesday, June 2/Week 28. Check with your AD if you have questions about the multiplication and/or typing requirements.
Typing goals:
Grammar C & D- 15 wpm
D1 & D2- 30 wpm
D3 & Rh- 40 wpm
Pi Day Raffle (3/12/26)
Several Rhetoric seniors will be pied during a school-wide assembly on Thursday, March 12,
3:00 p.m. Raffle Tickets will be for sale for $1.00 each and are available for purchase before school and during lunch on Weeks 19 and 20 (come to the Student Store). Several raffle tickets will be drawn earning the winners the opportunity to throw a pie!
Leprechaun Traps (Weeks 20 & 21)
Our annual “Leprechaun Trap” contest is coming soon! The goal is to catch the sneaking little creatures that come out on St. Patrick's Day. We encourage the students to create a trap at home and to bring it to school by Week 20, Thursday, March 12. We will hand out voting tokens to every student and staff member so that they may vote on their favorite trap. The trap with the most votes will win the Leprechaun Crown. There will also be prizes for the other participants. Let your creativity soar!
Oregon Writing Festival (registration closes 4/3/26)
Student writers in grades 4-12 are invited to the Oregon Writing Festival, May 2. Writers will gather in small groups, listen to published authors talk about their craft, share their work with peers from other schools, and compose new pieces in workshops run by local authors and teachers. Parents can also attend a workshop aimed at supporting budding writers at home. If you have questions about this event, feel free to check with Mrs. Stacy. She is hoping more students will attend this year as this is an exciting and fun opportunity! Transportation is provided by parents. To register for this event, click here.
Spring Recital & STEAM Fair (registration closes 4/9/26)
The Spring Recital and STEAM Fair are so much fun! We love to see the creativity of our students in action! The annual Spring Recital and STEAM Fair will be held Friday, May 1 (required dress rehearsal will be held on Thursday, April 30). If you plan to participate in the recital or STEAM Fair, sign up here.
Academy Ball
The Academy Ball is for all K-12 students and will be held immediately after the Spring Recital on May 1. More info. to come!
